The aromas quickly deviated from the common path and promptly arrived in a funky and curious world of dried papaya, strong black tea and new snakeskin boots. A deep fruitiness enveloped the nose with golden raisons, toasted malt loaf and Tokaji dessert wine. Tea tree oil and clotted cream introduced a palate rich in the myriad of spices found in a Turkish market. A veritable melting pot of flavours as coriander, herbal cough syrup and tropical punch bustled with hard candy, spicy aniseed balls and ras el hanout. After spending 11 years in an ex-bourbon hogshead it was transferred to a virgin oak hogshead for the remainder of its maturation.
