The golden hue of a west coast sunset presented a nose of sophisticated seduction. Aromas cascaded from the glass in an endless spring of jubilation as dried lavender and fragrantly scented pipe tobacco flirted with cherry chocolate and salted butter on hot crumpets. Out of nowhere came a coal bucket filled to the brim with marshmallows and chestnuts roasted on the dying embers of a beach bonfire. The sweet woodiness of a charcoal pencil dipped in honey mingled with lamb roasted with rosemary and the spiciness of rye whiskey. Free from additional water it was silky smooth to the end with a glorious finish of salted liquorice, sherry trifle and sweet hazelnut liqueur.
