The aromas led us on a journey starting with oyster seashell beeswax tea candles on the beach followed by stewed apples infused with cinnamon and orange and finally ending up with crispy fried sweet onion rings. The taste neat had the right combo of sweet and spice like roasted macadamia nuts coated in a mixture of garam masala, chili powder, sea salt flakes, black pepper and honey. With water sweeter aromas of maple syrup, marzipan and brown sugar appeared and on the palate a Madeira honey cake traditionally made with molasses, walnuts and almonds added called ‘bolo de mel’,
