The nose neat found us in the kitchen with a buttered hot pan making French sautéed potatoes flavoured with plenty of herbs like parsley, basil, thyme and rosemary, a dash of fresh lemon juice and finely chopped pieces of garlic and shallots. The taste neat had plenty of heat like a zingy citrus drizzle cake with a pinch (well - maybe a little more than a pinch!) of chilli powder and cinnamon. We were looking for the water and the aromas changed considerably, we started with melon and Prosciutto ham followed by seared venison with redcurrant sauce and on the palate, a buttered bacon butty sandwich.
